The Sunday Salon

We're joining the long list of bloggers who participate in this weekly prompt because it makes sense: you the readers, get a recap of our week and new readers might find our blog on The Sunday Salon roster. Growing readership matters. One of our primary aims is to introduce readers to writers they might not have discovered otherwise. We want to inform and engage each other. Let me know if you find this weekly post helpful. And consider joining TSS. Happy reading.

Welcome and read, Color Online's new columnist, Camile Ryerson. Her first article, "The Hajib, The President and Me" is honest and thought-provoking. I met Camile on a diversity forum a few years ago. I asked her to write for Color Online because I think her presence will encourage social and political dialogue.

Check out Bonnie Norman's review of The Palace of Illusion. You can find Bonnie's reviews here Every first and third Tuesday and at her blog, A Working Title.

Have you posted to or read our Color Online quiz? They're fun. They informative. And you earn a chance to win a free book. Don't know the answer, google. The goal is to learn.
Share the love. Check out BronzeWord, our current COLA writer. Jo Ann is dedicated to promoting and supporting Latino writers. Looking to expand your reading habits, read BronzeWord.

Few and great responses to our current CORA Diversity Roll call. This week's assignment is poetry. Read and participate. You have till 6/21, to drop us a link.

Thanks to all of you who have blogged about and supported our Color Online Summer Book Drive. We're at the midway mark. Books are coming in. Many on our wish list have not been selected yet. Please take time to check out our wish list at Powell's. We warmly welcome your gently used books, too.

Check out New Crayons. Each Sunday, I post what new books we put on our shelves. Find new reads and tell us what you've picked up at the library, bookstore or received in the mail.
