Friends, sorry for posting this late. Today's assignment is a repeat, poetry. This went quite well the first time so I thought we'd do it again. Your assignment is to post a poem in a form unique to a particular country, an example would be the sijo (Korea), haiku (Japan) or American Sentence (this is a single line of 17 syllables like a haiku. Created by Ginsberg). Another option: post a favorite poem by a poet of color. Tell us a little about the poet and the pome. Last option, post a poem that celebrates a particular country or culture. Tell us why you enjoy this poem. Please cite the collections for your entries. Let us know if you own the collection containing your feature. Please leave a link in the comments.

Is this CORA? Or something different...? Does the 2-week deadline still apply? lemme know if I should use the new logo/button...
Hi Zetta,
My guy made the new button. Left off CORA. It's the same. 2 week deadline. You have from now until 6/22 when Ali will post the next assignment.
Do you like this button? We've been experimenting.
I *do* like the new button! I need to take a course on html...I hate that I can't manage my own website! I just posted--here's the link: http://zettaelliott.wordpress.com/2009/06/09/diversity-roll-call-poetry/
Readers,
You have to read Zetta's poem and the selection she linked by June Jordan. Amazing!

Here's mine: Poetry
Cool I'm going to knock up a post about a couple of poets I like.
My post will be up on Saturday, June 20. I hope I remember to come back and provide the full link, but if not, check out Savvy Verse & Wit on Saturday!
I've participated this weekend. Here's my link: http://www.savvyverseandwit.com/2009/06/cora-diversity-roll-call-poetry.html
