debut novel is Sugar, and new novel is Nowhere is a Place.
(I remember when I was four and My mom slapped my face - because we were moving, had shown the place to a family and I asked if they were moving in. She must have been stressed, but it made me very sad at the time - the memory stayed with me for a long time. )
I like these quizzes - forces me to look up authors that I've never heard of before.

I should have mentioned that a face slapping is in the new book from Bernice McFadden - that's why I mentioned my memory - when I re-read my comment it just looked a little random. :)
Correction - new novel is Glorious (Johnny Temple), coming out in May 2010. (Bernice McFadden) First novel is Sugar.
