A Few Questions - I'll go first

1 What are you reading now?

I finally started, If Sons Then Heirs by Lorene Cary. I had to wait because I didn't want to pick it up during my slump. I falling hard for this book. Carey writing is beautiful and well crafted.

Yesterday, I started The Apple Pie Dream by Jenny Han, after reading Nathalie's review. It's an early middle grade novel, and a lot of fun

2 What have you recently finished?

Bindi Babes by Narinder Dhami. Its a middle grade novel featuring three South Asian sisters. It was so much fun.

3 What are you reading next.

I have no idea

4 Do you finish every book you start?

No, I put the bad ones down. Though I will skip to the last chapter to see how it ends. Normally, I feel justified for not finishing the book.

5 What was the last book you read because you liked the cover? Did you like it?

Learning How to Swim by Sara J. Henry. It's a mystery and I loved it. A great debut.

I guess you can find my full reading history over on GoodReads.com. But, here goes with my response to your questions.

1. I'm currently reading 'The Promise' by Jonathan Alter. It is part of my effort to get more non-fiction reading into my system.

2. I recently finished a science fiction book by Orson Scott Card. I'm a sci-fi fan, however, I've never read anything by Card until this year. I'm reading his 'Homecoming' series now. I just finished the second book in that series.

3. My next read is going to be the 3rd book in the 'Homecoming' series by Orson Scott Card. It's called -- The Ships of Earth.

4. Yes. I try to finish every book I start. However, sometimes I find that I put a book down and don't get back to it for many moons.

5. I don't know that I've ever read a book because of the cover.

peace, Villager

Right now I'm re-reading Three Shadows by Cyril Pedrosa. It's a graphic novel. I'm also reading another graphic novel called Paige after Page.

I recently finished a bunch of children's books but that's it.

After I finished the gns, I plan on starting Pym by Mat Johnson.

I do not finish every book I start! Life is too short.

I'm a cover addict! I have no problem buying a book because of a beautiful cover or even buying the U.K. or Canadian version of a book because of the cover. The last book I picked up because of its cover is The Best Birthday Party Ever by Jennifer Laure Huget. It's a children's book.

1. Where I Belong by Gillian Cross - a teen thriller, I guess, about Somalis living in London.

2. Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves.

3. Candace Fleming's middle-grade reader bio of Amelia Earhart.

4. If I'm reading it for work (teen librarian), I try to at least skim to the end so I can "sell" it to kids accurately. I've read TONS of first-in-the-series and let it go at that.

5. YA book: Evil Genius, by Catherine Jinks. I did like it! Book for adults: Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake - it was OK.

1: I am currently reading Hourglass a time travel book coming from Egmont next month.

2. I finished The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong that had some great Native American mythology.

3. I am reading an ARC of Die for Me by Amy Plum.

4. I try my level best to finish every book I start because I know it will be important to someone somewhere in the world for some reason. The written word is powerful in all it's forms. However, lately I have been putting down books to 'come back to later' something I never did before.

I'm reading Chocolate Thoughts by S.James Guitard. But I don't know if I'll finish it.

I recently finished Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza. Amazing biography of a Rawandan genocide survivor.

I don't know if I want to read something off of my shelf next or wait on my three recently ordered books to arrive. I'm most excited about the Measure of a Man by Sidney Poitier!

I do not finish every book I start.

Unless a book comes recommended or as a gift, one of the reasons I pick it up is because I like the cover!

1 What are you reading now?

I'm SO jealous that you're reading If Sons, Then Heirs. I can't wait to pick it up.

I'm currently reading Talk of the Town by Lisa Wingate and listening to Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger.

2 What have you recently finished?

Roseflower Creek by Jackie Lee Miles (think The Lovely Bones meets Bastard Out of Carolina)

3 What are you reading next?

Whatever holds my attention the next time I scroll through my Kindle.

4 Do you finish every book you start?

No, I used to try to, but I've learned that there are too many good books to waste my time reading the bad ones.

5 What was the last book you read because you liked the cover? Did you like it?

Haunting Jasmine by Anjali Banerjee. Loved the cover and loved the book.

Villager, I am trying to read more NF as well

Vassilly, I was going to read the Poe story before PYM but on Saturday someone told me, I could still get PYM without reading Poe.

Lisa - when I was working at a bookstore, I read a lot of first in kids series as well. If it was a series I had no interest in, I would just ask kids who liked it what it was about.

Pam - I love the cover of Die for Me, and it sounds like something I might like.

ReadingHasPurpose - Since Chocolate Thoughts is a collection if you've read more then half check it as finished. That's the rule I follow.

Read4Pleasure - Its been at least a year since I stopped finishing every book. It was a great decision.

I like the idea of not finishing every book you start. I don't all the time, but sometimes I feel like I have to keep going and I really shouldn't.

Learning How to Swim sounds great. I saw that at the bookstore. Great cover.
