The Sunday Salon: What We Read, Wrote and Said

Welcome to The Sunday Salon. Over the weekend stop by to get a recap of the week's postings. Whew! What a week. Read two very different YA books, Emaku Blue by Brenda Woods and Kendra by Coe Booth. Booth's novel inspired my Poetry Friday post. For reviews, let's talk about what happened this week. Tashi reviewed Played by Dana Davidson and Tina interviewed sci-fi author, Kirsten Kasai. Ms. Kasai's debut novel, Ice Song has a unique character(s).

Ali is hosting CORA Diversity Roll Call. This week you have two options: books for boys and book covers. Some fantastic posts are up already. Do join in. Color Me Brown is going well, too. You have to check out these reviews. Some of my favorite children and YA books are reviewed including Feathers and If You Come Softly. We need more adult literature so I'll be scouting and requesting to link a few books this coming week.

Camile's back with more comments from her mom. Check out "Everyday People." Great music track, too. Summer Madness winners announced. Looking forward to some great reviews. Winners, you all know I expect links for Color Me Brown, right? And congratulations to our Color Online Quiz winner, Eva from A Striped Armchair. I'll get your book prize in the mail soon. Speaking of mail, what did you get in the mail, at the bookstore or at your library? Share your New Crayons with us.

Little Lov'n Monday has been light at Black-Eyed Susan's. Come on people show some love. Drop a link. Don't forget, to check out Ari's Male Monday and Tashi's Throwback Thursday.

In closing, sadly, we learned Corazon Aquino passed away. As Friends say, holding her family in the light.

Be well.
